These perspective drawings by Viktor Timofeev are pulverizing my mind right now.
[Warning: major tangent] I am an ebullient advocate of manual perspective drawing, and drawing in general. For myself, it was an integral part of not just learning how to draw forms and spaces, but understanding spatial relationships and learning to visualize and contextualize both physical and abstract systems.
Nervous System makes a good related point about generative design: “Part of the draw of computational design is you aren’t limited by the tools made available by others. Anything is possible. However, this comes with the caveat that in order for anything to be possible, you need to put in the effort to understand algorithms to the level that you can use them innovatively.”
I think that’s true if you work with code, graphite, sounds, words, research, fashion, persuasions, pickles, paint, persimmons or any other medium. Know your shit.
